Tomorrow night, I will get my first look in person of the 2010-11 Fighting Illini basketball team. The team is off to a 1-0 start is facing University of Toledo tomorrow. As the Illini gear up for a crucial Big Ten contest against Michigan State, the University of Illinois and Assembly Hall will play host to College Gameday. The doors open at 9am and the filming begins 10am. The game against Michigan State will start at 7pm. Tomorrow, January 30th, 2010, the Illini will play arch rival Indiana at the Assembly Hall in Champaign. For those of you who do not know, the Illini will be wearing a special pink jersey that will be auctioned off to raise money for the Coaches Vs. Cancer fund. The jersey will be white with pink trim and pink shoes. The Illini along with four other D1 schools will be doing in games this weekend. The Illini offense exploded versus Vanderbilt in 79-68 win at Assembly Hall. Vanderbilt came into the game ranked 24th in the country. With the win, the Illini improved to a record of 7-2. Demetri McCamey led the Illini with 23 points. This is impressive non-conference win for the Illini. Vanderbilt is picked 3rd in the SEC East Division behind Kentucky and Tennessee. Next up for the Illini is Western Michigan on Sunday, December 13th at Assembly Hall. Tip off is 1:30PM. Category: NCAAB |
